Ghost Touring Camrose
Main Street and Railway Avenue – typical names connected with any downtown pioneer town. It’s the backdrop to one of the busiest corners in Camrose during the early years. The CP Railway Station sat adjacent to the tracks, facing two magnificent hotels.
They were grand structures with unique pioneer architecture, rivalling the splendour of any other building in Alberta. Local legend Camille David and partner Mr. Miquelon built the Windsor Hotel, where the Alice now is located. Ole Bakken, a mysterious man himself, built the Arlington where the Windsor Hotel now stands.
My story relates a sad loss. You’ll hear the names Blue Smith and Dr. Lamb and learn what a century of loneliness can sound like.
What ghost wouldn’t want to reside at our Bailey Theatre?
With $8.1 million of upgrades she is the pride of the Camrose community, transformed from a ramshackle shell to this magnificent, modern theatre, veiled in historical magic. Stories are plentiful and I hear more every year – involving a diverse assembly of ghosts, enchanted by the harmony and grandeur of this upscale contemporary Nickelodeon.
